Why donating blood saves lives

Every two seconds, someone in the world needs blood. A single donation can save up to three lives because your donation is separated into red cells, plasma, and platelets.

Who can donate

  • Age between 18 and 60
  • Weight above 50 kg
  • Healthy, no recent illness
  • At least 3 months since the last donation

Before you donate

  1. Eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water.
  2. Bring a valid ID.
  3. Get a good night's sleep.

After donating

Rest for a few minutes, avoid heavy lifting for 24 hours, and keep hydrated. You will feel back to normal in no time — and someone, somewhere, gets another chance at life because of you.
